Drag Week Build

Post by pro1342 »

I'm in the process of building a Beretta for drag week. In search of a Z26 grille as I'm mounting the front end to the chassis.

Also, I have the front and rear fascia, and the side effects. Are there any other items special to the Z cars from a base model? 16 year old me overlooked the grille, and now 30yo me is going to pay for it. Seems reproductions have been discontinued.

I've got a couple of spares. Black, a rattle-canned white grill, maybe a second white one... If the price-range is in the right ballpark, I'll dig one out this week and get some good photos. Are you concerned about paint color/condition, or will you be re-painting anyway? I know my black one was pretty decent, but had some tiny rock-chips. I know I have a BRM (Black Rose Metallic) one too, but it wasn't in the greatest of shape and unless it was somehow worth more to you than a white or black one, I probably would keep it since both of my Z-26s are BRM... Send me a PM if interested with a ball-park on price, if you want send me your ZIP-Code too so I can figure-out shipping costs.

So, the "Z04" code body-kit, used on Z-26s and GTZs, was the front and rear Bumper-Covers (you have), special turn-signal/front marker lamp/driving-lights (you probably don't need), side-skirts and matched door-bottom skirts with mounting-brackets rivetted to the doors, and the spoiler, which was also shared with the '90 Indy models.

Probably not relevant to your project would be the different seats (and IIRC door-panel fabrics in certain years), badges/emblems/stickers, special headlight switch ('91-96) or special overhead console for the driving-light switch ('90 only), and special Stainless-Steel twin-outlet exhaust-tip, and the outside mirrors were painted differently from base-models... Nothing else other than VIN, wheels, suspension, and the '90-'94 Quad-4 engine-option made the GTZs or Z-26s any different. Unless you were trying to truly 'clone' one though, these items probably wouldn't matter.
