Hey there fellow Beretta lovers! This is my 1994 Chevrolet Beretta Z-26. I cruise this bad boy around the streets of Tacoma, Washington. I bought it from my friend who is a Chevy Parts Manager I run the parts truck. Him and his father modified it and here is a list of it's mods.
Z-24 sway bar
Taylor Wires
Eibach springs
Polyeurethane bushings
AC Delco struts and shocks
Nology spark plugs
removed catalytic converter
Bro-Speed dual tip muffler
custom intake
relocated air temp sensor
Had MSD coils (crapped out. new ones on warranty)
custom gages
Kendall 20w-50 & hyper lube every 1500 miles
17'' Eagle Allowys
Power stop rotors
My friend Ray's mom in the passenger seat

brand new GM components: basically everything including transmission.

By the way this is now the second Beretta. The first one was involved in an accident that wasn't my fault but let me warn you about talking on your cell phone while driving. Because some lady in a Tahoe rear ended me while she was on the phone and my entire Uni-body got bent the **** out!!! So, I got a donor car same year same color minus the sun-roof and side graphics. Transfered all the performance mods and did a nice paint job (chevy orange) under the hood.

I need to eat something! Can I eat off your engine! Man, that's clean. You lost your MSD coils? I had mine for 5 years( put a control module from Borg Warner on and killed off any trouble with the coils). One more thing, I read somewhere that you need to use CPU heat sink grease on the control module, spread it thin like you would with the CPU. I did do that and I guess it worked for me(lost my car a month ago). That CM cost me like $180, but I don't ever put cheap parts on(ha,ha).

call me stuborn but i don't like to run too many aftermarket parts on the Zed-26. I appreciate your input bro! but i gotta keep it GM!

Ok. Well the Borg Warner CM is just a better stock replacement part. If that's what you want than that's fine, I just wanted to say that there were other things out there that you can count on.

wow that is 1 clean sharp looking beretta and I actually like the wheels on there. Engine is so clean we could have a meal off of it.

OK I have to ask.

Why 20w50?

That's a tough opening (cold) viscosity on start-ups unless it's a race engine and has the clearences to handle it.

And MSD coils are junk. Stick with GM. One of the few things GM actually does VERY WELL is ignition systems.

My Beretta has been runnin 20w50 since about 60,000 miles and we have never had any problems with start ups. Also, my MSD coils crapped out. As you can see from the pics I am running GM ones.

Well you wouldn't notice the problems with start ups until you take the engine apart, or it fails, but I can assure you you shouldn't be running anywhere near that heavy an oil in that engine.

The manufacturer recommends oil viscosities for a reason, and that reason is not to have back yard mechanics second guess them, but rather what the engine will perform best on.

But it's your car.

Berettagod, where would you recommend for me to find that information. I work for a Chevrolet dealership, I don't use backyard mechanics dude! I have many friends and co-workers who run the same in all sorts of different rides, last time i was in Toronto watching Dougie Gilmore kick *** for the Leafs i noticed how cold it was. Do you think "backyard" mechanics take that into consideration? Or do you get your jollies from being pompus???

i agree with duncan05 bring Bfest over here to the west coast. i will be there! but i can't come to Ontario my oil is to heavy!

Just an FYI Hero. His username is Asylum Motorsports. You were referring to him by his board rating. I use thicker oil in cold weather too. Never had any issues. Of course I run thinner in the summer.
