Don't listen to the head gasket complainers because every car will have a flaw like that. Both of my Subies we got and shortly after owning did an engine overhaul on. Hers was done at around 115k or so and it has near 240k on it now, I've only done a timing belt since. My legacy I rebuilt at 160k because I melted a piston so I did a forged piston rebuild and that's got 245k or so on it now, same deal only replaced the timing belt again since the build because I had a water pump start to leak. They've been quite reliable and fun that's for sure.

The trailer, short story version is for Hot Rod Dragweek.... If you're not familiar with it do a quick search on it. I was able to get a ticket for this year, we'll see if it still happens, But yeah in order to compete you need to tow everything you need for the event for the entire week, no support vehicle's are allowed. Now to figure out what I'm going to bring with me... lol
Very familiar with Drag Week, I hope it happens too, that would be a blast, and representin' with a Beretta!

OK so short story is that the Subies are way more reliable than GM crap, lol

72k on the wife's new Sube. Hope it doesn't suck! You still planning on body swapping yours, Jon?
Yes, I have a 06 Legacy in the basement garage that I need to work on sometime... in addition with everything else.

Still need to determine if I'm bringing a spare transmission during Drag week... if so I need to start in on building that soon. Don't know if I would build it as much as my current, but if something let go I'd like to have a spare to at least get home.

And Rocky Mountain Race week is sold out, and I'm assuming it either sells out just as quick as Drag Week, or at least similar.

For some who may not follow it, DragWeek 2020 has been canceled, or technically re-scheduled till 2021. I'm not surprised with the way things have been going this year. I'm also not disappointed because with the current conditions with everything, I honestly questioned if I was going to really be able to enjoy that event, or if it would be too restricted to really have fun.

That being said... that means more time, aka more mods.

This project took a bit of fitting since I bought a 2000 Camaro Drag Race kit assuming it would fit since I can run 2000 Camaro brakes. Long story short, Factory brakes the abutment bracket mounts to the inside of the knuckle, Wilwood decided to mount theirs to the back side of the knuckle, and the N-body one isn't as thick as the F-body one. This resulted it me having to source a shorter rotor hat to bring the offset in. Thankfully I found a combo that worked and helped the rotor also clear the ball joints which was another interference issue.

I'm quite happy with how these feel and I'm extremely happy to go from a 13lb 10.75" rotor to a 9.5lb 11.75" rotor. BIG gain on the weight of the setup, and the increase diameter adds leverage to the whole braking system and you can really feel it.

If I can find more photos, I'll have to toss up some more pics of the other mods that have been done for Drag Week 2021 Prep...

Wow those look awesome, and I'll bet it's a world of improvement. Like you stated, a lot of fitting, but pretty slick how the hats are interchangeable. I had never messed with aftermarket brakes so that's news to me.

That is a really light big rotor. If my memory servers my correct, the stock rotors were around 5.5kg. The Subaru ones I'm using are 11kg and yours is coming to only 4,30913 on unit converter :o

Yes that is correct... they weigh just under the weight of a factory rotor which I believe is around 10lbs... The N-body stuff I had been running was 11lbs each, and the F-body stuff, near 18lbs per rotor IIRC... If I went up to the 12.75" setup I believe that is a 10lb setup, but my abutment bracket would require longer studs and a spacer under the caliper to accommodate that. Plus I don't think it's necessary, this thing stops like a dream now.
