Re: 1996 Mr.Pink
No, I came off the track at half temp and noticed the tank had pushed out some coolant though the cap so I walked away for a second, came back and it was spraying coolant everywhere. Also that mount never moves... I however did forget the bolt to the cap right there but it didn't budge. And not sure if it's a defect or just cheap crap... Chris Downing posted on the Facebook group that he had two dayco ones split on him as well. This was a AC Delco one but I guess that doesn't matter.

Could be the same maker just under different names. Or just the sad standard of todays parts.

Re: 1996 Mr.Pink
So I put the car up on stands and started the brake removal and Master Cylinder swap project. Got it all done in one night, lines all flushed, reservoir all cleaned out (full of sludge in some areas) and all calipers flushed and re-connected. Watiting to get my Motul 5.1 brake fluid. Should have that tomorrow and I'll be able to bleed the system and see how the N-body brakes feel on this new master. When I had it all apart I inspected all the ABS parts and learned a few things about them as well as compared the two piston diameters and you can see a difference between the two masters when looking at the side that faces the booster, so that's promising that pedal feel should be a lot firmer. I wont know for sure how it effects the F-body brakes till I try those again but for now I'm sure it will help increase rear brake pressure as Eric Wood saw in his. If it's still overly spongy then it's booster time...
And for now I'm just using the overflow tank I had previously removed... It's still working fine and I'm not about to stress the engine that hot anytime soon so it will suffice till next year or whenever I decide to replace it or try something else.

Re: 1996 Mr.Pink
Just did a warranty return-replacement function on that recovery tank and in less than 2 min I had an authorization so I'll be sending that back to RA for a replacement. I'll probably test the next one to see if it will hold 15PSI, or at least make sure the cap lets go before the tank does... I have a OEM 18 PSI cap and maybe I'll go get one of the aftermarket 15PSI one's instead... I'd rather have it puke a bit out the cap than blow up the tank again.

If you got all those stickers off the windows it would be a pretty damn good looking car.

Hell no, that shows my dedication... and it's always a conversation starter.
Stops pretty damn good with the new master and fluid. Pedal is really firm and right at the top to, granted it's with the Nbody calipers now but I have faith the F's will also feel better.

Always am in want of the work space you have. I do like the slightly better heating of my work area.

Re: 1996 Mr.Pink
When you drove my car, how bad was the brake pedal, having 4 disk brakes has made it pretty soft till u get to the bottom of the pedals range.
What would u do if it was your car

Re: 1996 Mr.Pink
I honestly don't remember what your pedal felt like in comparison... Must not have been super different from my old setup seeing how I don't remember freaking out at first when I drove it. honestly since you have the non ABS version I would just get the same master cylinder that Eric Wood did... The 92 Lumina one I believe. I'm sure if you ask he can get you the right number.

Re: 1996 Mr.Pink
Well that didn't last long... Didn't even make it off the line.
Had to take the Forester and camper home, grab my friends truck and enclosed trailer, drive back up to NH load the car and then drive back home... YIKES... made for a long night that's for sure.

Perfect shear. Sure didn't see that coming! At least it got back home in style and not on the back of a tow truck.

Maybe it's just me, but I wonder if these lines are showing a twisting happening to the bar... This is the same bar that broke but on the outer CV side...
