The Pennsylvania Amish of Lancaster County are America’s oldest Amish settlement, where thousands still live a centuries-old “Plain” lifestyle. Where the horse & buggy remains a primary form of transportation, and where windmills dot the landscape, providing power harnessed from nature. When you visit Lancaster County be sure to take a tour of the Pennsylvania Amish countryside –you can even do it in an Amish horse and buggy. Afterwards, explore the many Amish-themed attractions, and events, shop for hand-made Amish crafts, and chow down on some authentic PA Dutch cooking.

Visitors will get a glimpse of farm life as it was in the early 1800s. Visit markets and farm stores for homemade shoofly pie and fresh produce, or shop for a handmade quilt. Consider a side trip to nearby Hershey, home of Hershey Park and the Hershey chocolate factory.

This is an area that tourists and visitors have grown to love. When you visit Lancaster County, you’ll discover Amish communities where life moves at a slower pace and centers around time-honored traditions and values. You’ll find Pennsylvania Dutch countryside dotted with one-room schoolhouses and wooden covered bridges, modern farm machinery being pulled by mule teams, homemade clothing, brightly-colored handmade quilts gently blowing in the breeze, and small furniture stores selling handcrafted Amish-made furniture.

In Amish country, you’ll hear the sounds of farm animals and the clip-clop of horse hooves echoing down quiet country roads.
Amid the relaxing atmosphere and peaceful scenery, you’ll find a unique blend of attractions and entertainment, food, shopping, and lodging that help to make Lancaster County one of America’s favorite vacation destinations for all ages. Come visit the awesome places in Lancaster county such as Intercourse, Bird in Hand, Lititz, Blue Ball,
