Hey All

I want too change the stock Delco cassette player to a newer CD-player on my GTZ -90. I know that have too get a panel for the AC-control. Is the DIN-radio slot integrated on this panel or do have too buy this separate? Is the Delco unit connected with standard sockets?

Does someone know how powerful the Delco unit is?

Is´t hard too do the change? ÂÂÂ

Where can I buy the panel? As fittings part at my local Chevy dealer?

Sorry for my bad english, it´s not my native language.

/Joakim

one step at a time...what year beretta do you have?

also are you looking for delco cd player, or an aftermarket (pioneer, sony, etc)......

the delco tape decks/radio are about 10w RMS, and 17peak....not powerful at all....

and your english is better then most american's english!!!

The car is a Chevy Beretta GTZ -90.

I´am looking principally on aftermarket CD-player because I live in Sweden and here the frequency range is from 87 to 108Mhz, and in the US it´s only to 104Mhz I think.

now ours goes up to the same....but in anycase....i havent installed a deck in older interior beretta in while...but in the audio archive section there is a topic for flush mounting the deck which will look much nicer then having it stick out....it has the part numbers in it...

the kit youll need isnt GM part, itd be from a car stereo company..i believe metra is the company that makes the part you will need....installing a deck is not hard at all...worst part is stripping wires, and connecting the two harnesses....very boring!!!! but not hard at all......

http://www.metraonline.com/product.aspx?sku=99-3101

The price is about the same around 20$..

You should go with the panel that sticks out the farthest, any stereo store will carry them, just ask for an install kit, they go for around 30 bucks with wiring adapters and a antenna adapter (you will need a motorola style end that your beretta doesnt have).  I've had trouble finding a panel that fits perfect, the radio housing in the 90 Beretta's was very shallow so my brand new JVC deck sticks out half an inch past the panel.  The only way I know of to keep this from happening is to stilt the panel out on its screws (but then the surrounding HVAC controls wont fit properly, nor will the trim piece that fits around the whole unit),  or buying a short CD player.  It really isnt all that hard to do yourself tho, especially if you go with the install kit.  Good luck.
