Re: My Legacy Rebuild...
What pin holes do you speak of?
And I have a feeling that marker burnt off rather quickly... Also the only person who would ever take this motor apart is either me, or someone in a scrap yard when I finally get rid of it... I honestly never re-sell a vehicle to anyone. I drive them till they are dead.

Re: My Legacy Rebuild...
So far so good.... Haven't full boosted on it yet but it appears to be running ok. Just giving it a bit of an easy break in, then I'll pound on it.
Forged pistons are noisy! Sounds like a Jetta Turbo Diesel when its cold! LOL

Looking good Jon.
Are those cam phasers on the top cams - the silver housing vs the black housing on the bottom?

Yeah it has AVCS on the intake cams only. The newer 2010 motors have dual AVCS

Re: My Legacy Rebuild...
Since no one has probably heard this car before here is a quick start up vid... someone was asking how quickly my oil pressure light shuts off during start up so I made this recording... I should get a walk around when it's warm so you guys can actually hear it.

Re: My Legacy Rebuild...
In the diagram it looked like one wrist pin hole had a plug and the other was set up for a tube.

Re: My Legacy Rebuild...
Better Vid.
And Engine bay all done
The wristpin holes three are plugged by big 14mm alan socket lugs... and one other has a plate with o-ring. The one on the rear is set inside the chamber that is used to eliminate most of the oil vapor from the PCV system but thats about it. They were all sealed with RTV when going in.

He doesn't have a factory one. His is an upgraded Perrin unit that has TIG welded end tanks.

Yeah no need, already started to separate the stock plastic tank IC, I got the perrin for 300 and it was brand new so I'll stick with it for now.
