One gallon, two gallon, three gallon four...
Interestingly, 3.8 liters, or 231 cubic inches, is exactly one gallon.
I've recently picked up a couple new (to me, that is) 3800s. Unlike the GTU's SC 3800 L36/L67 hybrid or the 'spare' L67 I have waiting in the back of my shop, these are both Series 3 engines. An L26 N/A and an L32 SC -that one was a little pricey compared to most of the engines I've acquired, but with the newer Gen-5 Eaton M90 -which boasts ceramic-coated impellers and a few other improvements- and a factory-claimed 260 H.P. in bone-stock form, I think it will be worth having. Now, what to put them in...
The N/A L26 is already spoken for, and won't be remaining stock. The L32 SC, will likely lose it's fly-by-wire electronic throttle body -horrid things, those- and may get a modified tune on a PCM from an L67, if I can get around to prepping my old lap-top for my DHP. Most likely, it will get sent into my Yellow Indy, along with a five-speed swap. I already know from the GTU that I can fit a 3800 S/C into the older Berettas without permanent mods to the car, aside from two holes drilled into the right subframe. I may also install a multi-speed fuel-pump control unit as used on some L67 Series-2s, which will also require one of the ground wires from the fuel tank sending unit to be cut (the digi-dash cars have two sending-unit ground wires). The five-speed swap requires more modification to the car with three holes drilled into the firewall, but it should have come with that in the first place IMO. Rare Indy or not, an improvement is in order I think, and I don't see a couple of subframe holes as equaling any harm done. Now if Doc Brown can just loan me that Delorean, so I have some time to work on it...

Subframes are removeable too, so it's not permanent anyway.
You've got to get one of these things to a Bfest some day...
