No test drives with no cash, and front bumper is destroyed, looks pricey for condition and year.

...They are always too far away. With a decent black interior and a sunroof, this would be exactly what I was looking for. I even have a reasonably decent black Z-26 nose for it. The price sounds pretty good to me, if the engine is really all that he says it is, especially considering the spare parts and wheels going with it. Those hood-pins would simply have to go, though.

Ouch. Yeah, good price for the year (but I prefer the '90 GTZ, I like the old-style interior better, and the '90 had slightly better HP than the rest of them), but the condition... Well, $800 might be more realistic, but then again, the engine could be better than the rest of the car, and if there are no rust issues, the rest does not look beyond restoration. The door-panel will be the hard part to replace if he doesn't have the right one for it. The seats don't look too bad...

90-91 quad GTZ had 180 hp and the 3.61 external slave trans
92 quad GTZ had 180 hp and the 3.94 external slave trans
93 quad GTZ had 175 hp and the 3.94 internal slave trans
94 quad Z26 had 170 hp and the 3.94 internal slave trans

The only thing specifically unique to the 90 GTZ was the old style interior.

The only things that reduced power output in the 93 and 94 were cylinder heads and exhaust manifolds with smaller chambers and less flow, but they made up for it with the better 3.94 FDR trans.

People call the 92 quad GTZ the best GTZ because of the 180hp and the 3.94 FDR trans

90-93 came with FE7 suspension
94 had FE3 suspension

Whoops! Yes, you are right. I thought the '89 and '90 LG0 were the only years rated at 180 -I think I was confused with the W41's 2-year-only higher rating (190 HP). I didn't mean to put mis-information out there, thanks for setting it straight (um, again! :D :good: ).

I still like the older interior better (4/5 Berettas I've owned are '90 and older), and I didn't know the '90 and '91 had a taller FDR, I thought all Quads had the same unique FDR gearing -I would actually take the earlier FDR for lower top-gear RPMs and theoretical superior MPG, even at the sacrifice of acceleration, so that is another reason supporting my '90 GTZ preference.

All the W41 cars, 91 442 included had a 3.94 fdr with their own unique 5th gear as well, and as I'm sure you read, some came factory with a torsen limited slip differential. :D

And you're right about only the 91 and 92 W41's being 190 hp, 93's were rated 185 hp due to a different head.

And no problem! I love educating people about the quad 4, it's a fun and impressive little motor! :Bravo:
