'89 GTU License Plate -Cool!

I ran across this on ebay... Even the year is right! My GTU is about 5 weeks away from 'Collector" status, and if registered as such, it no longer requires a front plate, so I was prowling around looking for ideas. I'm concerned about the legalities of this, because it is a legitimate plate, but not for the U.S., so it may be fine -besides, who would bother stopping a car for wearing this?
