lower intake cooling pipe
lower intake cooling pipe
Hi guys. I'm on a bunch of forums but just got a 1990 beretta gt 3.1 auto. Wondering what to do with the water pipe to remove the lower intake.Everything is removed but there's a water pipe on the drivers side going down to a heater core hose it looks like. Please help!
Re: lower intake cooling pipe
Take the rubber hose off it and plan on replacing that clip. Local parts store "Help!" section should have plenty of those in stock for your MPFI V6.

I removed it from the heater core hose but the aluminum(pot metal) fitting that goes to the intake rotted off. Any replacement parts or does anyone know the pipe threads and diameter. Sort of looks like the coolant temp sensor above it but not sure.

Those fittings should be available at your local parts store, they're a fairly common replacement item.

Found the fitting with no problem. Still need to know any tips or tricks for tapping out the pot metal still in the housing on the aluminum threads. Anyone deal with this?
Re: lower intake cooling pipe
14 THREADS PER INCH IF ANYONE GOES THROUGH THIS. Went to Harbor Freight up the street and got a kit for 50 bucks. Returned it the next day claiming that I had the wrong size.

Re: lower intake cooling pipe
Visit your local Napa Auto Parts. We have a kit on the shelf that is just for this situation. Comes with an easy out, and a tap an a new fitting to screw in. They are about $45 and it has everything you need to get the old one out and get back on the road.
