what did you do to your ride today?
Re: what did you do to your ride today?
This thread needs to be revived... No, I don't have ANY trouble letting go of the past... I just don't do it.
Drove the old '95 Z, started dropping the new engine into the new '95 Z (well, yesterday).

As noted, It's too difficult for millennials to post on a forum platform... Facebook is "easier" so that's where all the traffic is. I hate it because you can't find historical information on there and there is no organization to the group... just a long list of posts, and re-posts and the same questions asked over and over and over again.
Re: what did you do to your ride today?
No FB for me. I'm a gen-x'er so social media isn't ingrained in to me.
I tried, in vain, to free up my caliper slides. Even with brake grease they barely move. I ordered a reman caliper, we'll see how that goes.

Re: what did you do to your ride today?
Issue with the caliper slides is probably due to rust build up between the rubber insert and the caliper itself which pinches the slide sleeve... Gotta pull the rubber out, clean out the rust, protect the metal there and re-assemble. OR buy new calipers but make sure you protect where the rubber slide assy goes into so it doesn't just do it again.

I made a 65mm throttle body gasket out of a sheet of universal Fel-Pro material. That's about it for today.

Worked on the Z-26 project. Spent WAY too much time surgically removing (spot-weld drill) the transmission mount from the frame. I should have just cut the b@$t@rd off!
Not a Beretta, but I also took the Z-28 out for a short drive. Battery is weak from sitting too much, and I discovered that the replacement white-face gauges I put in the car have a faulty gas-gauge... Yep, ran dry a block from home, showing 1/8th of a tank...

Z-28, nice! What year? That blows about the gas gauge..Rettax3 wrote:Worked on the Z-26 project. Spent WAY too much time surgically removing (spot-weld drill) the transmission mount from the frame. I should have just cut the b@$t@rd off!
Yeah spot welds, good times. I've drilled a lot of those on my MG restoration.

Do I see a reflection of an '80's Regal?
Re: what did you do to your ride today?
Yep, that is the wife's 85 T-Type garage princess. You have a good eye to be able to see what car is in the reflection.
Re: what did you do to your ride today?
Ha ha I thought you might get a kick out of that. Those are great cars, comfy.
Re: what did you do to your ride today?
'88 convertible, thank you. Picked up a pair of really clean black leather power seats for it from an Audi in Pick-N-Pull yesterday, $15 each on sale! I smuggled in my pocket jump-starter to energize the seats to expose the mounting bolts -stupid triple-square hardware too... Not sure why, but somehow it seems like 'verts should have leather seats...EPfiffner wrote:Z-28, nice! What year? Picked up a second set of BMW E36 headlights, under $9 each with the sale, I will pull the lenses off of them like I did on the GTU for an aggressive Euro-ish look. These will probably go on the Yellow Indy. I remember when you couldn't find these lights in the junk-yard, there were three sets there yesterday!

Man I love that '88 body style, that car has to be a blast. I was coming of age in that era so those will always be the sh$t to me.
I don't mean to derail the thread, just get excited about everyone's non-beretta projects too.
