Center trunk panel 1990

Post by Mkweaver1958 »

Hi all,
I need the center trim panel between the taillights on the trunk lid of my 90 Indy.
Mine is cracked and water sits inside and it just looks bad.
The lower panel could use replacement too if a good set can be found.
It would need to be shipped to 32244 in FL
Thanks

These are always a hot-ticket item. If yours isn't cracked badly (i.e. pieces missing from it) it may be easier to seal it up (I like "Seal All" for plastic parts if the repair doesn't need to be pretty -it works good and lasts a long time, and as an added bonus can even be used to repair plastic gas-tanks! ) to keep the water out or just drill small drain holes in it, then do a gloss-black paint over it, which could even help hide cracks in the outer face of it. If you then paint the bottom section black to match, you can sand the paint back off of the "BERETTA" script, and put a light behind the panel, and it will light up. This, along with just replacing the old filler panel with the newer black style, were common appearance mods back when on these cars, as a lot of people preferred the black look to the translucent early style. If you can find a decent set, make sure you are getting the version you want, the translucent ones are getting very rare in good shape now. Good luck.

These are becoming very difficult to find.
I have 4 sitting here that B-Man (Marc) will have in the next couple of weeks up here in Canada.
All are the later design, (dark) but in very good condition. No broken studs or cracks.
Cheers

The ones Ken has are the later model solid black ones, they are not the correct ones for the 88-90 models.
