1990 GTZ Dead Cyl

Post by Reinere »

#3 is showing 20psi, afraid I've smoked my quad 4.

To be fair it was a long time coming, syncro in 3rd gear is out and this spring when I fired it up it sounded horrible.

Anyone know where I can find a rebuild kit for the Quad 4 LGO? Trans rebuild is needed too.

If I cant find the parts, a swap might be in order.

Maybe try to shoehorn a ecotec out of a 2008 Cobalt SS in there (I think it would fit and I'm not scared of electronics work)

Ecotec will fit fine, makes sure you have the transmission for it and the CV axles as well -those will plug right into your Beretta wheel-hubs (I used those in my GTU with the F40-six-speed swap next to the 3800SC). That would be a cool swap.
Have you looked into Rock Auto for the Quad parts though? Contact Woody for the transmission rebuild -he has the manual for the 282 you have, I would field any questions to him too if you go that route. Any pics of your car?
