o2 sensor from an 88 2.8 on a 96 3100

Post by nicky gio88gt »

I just got 96 cutlass supreme sl with a 3100. My service engine soon light started comming on just yesterday, its probably just the usual o2 sensor. I had just replaced the o2 sensor on my 88gt before it got wrecked. My question is will the o2 sensor from the 2.8 be compatible with the 3100 or no?
Thanks,
-Nick

Nope, the 3100 uses a 4-wire heated sensor.  It has two of them in '96+.

One in the rear exhaust manifold, and another one in the exhaust pipe right after the catalytic converter.
