Hey Tim, the shaking could be caused by bad engine and transmission mounts, so that would be the first thing to check. It sounds like your transmission is slipping, so depending on the condition of your transmission fluid you may be able to get away with just new fluid and filter. You could also try some stuff from GM called Automatic Transmission Seal Conditioner, which people have had great results with. The part number is 12345837 and it costs about $7. It's worth a try, anyway, since it's a lot cheaper than transmission work

Your engine problem could be a simple vaccuum leak, and the tranny sounds like it is either very low on fluid or your clutch packs are badly worn. Does your tranny lock out a gear every now and then? If it does you probably blew the sprag.

With the type of questions you are asking I would suggest that you have a transmission shop rebuild your transmission. They are not for the beginner.

When it does move, does it move pretty good or "ok".
I drove a car (2003 impala) that seemed like trans problems at first until I got more in depth about it and it turned out it was a clogged cat!
I wish ya luck!
