i have an 88 v6 2.8 and my tranny is slipping so i want to put a 5 speed manual in it but i dont know the transmission i need or where to find it

You'll need one of the Muncie-Getrag transmissions, model HM-282.  Found in V6 Berettas, Cavaliers, and probably some other cars.  I think the Fiero ones are a direct swap also.  Some other transmissions (like the one from the Quad 4) fit with a bellhousing swap.  Best place to find one is a junkyard, or you can try Car-Part.com.  You'll need a bunch of other stuff to do the conversion also.
