hello I am planning on chucking my whole ac unit.being that they are nothing but a power robber and add more weight to the car they are useless.anyhow I got the ac bypass pulley all I need to do know is take the pump off.and the ac condenser and all the lines etc and thats all I think.help me out here guys..anyone ever done this before.???

I did one a LONG time ago I did one on a 88 2.8 motor to do it was real easy pull the compressor and the mounting brace for it the by pass pulley uses one of the bolt holes the bracket is in. Can't remember much on hoses.

Kinda need Year and engine.  But really most app. its easy.  If you give me more info i can give you a link for pully.

if I unplug the wiring harness going into the ac compresser will it turn my check engine light on.???

AC compressor only takes away power when AC is turned on.

Just to let you know you're not going to GAIN any hp by removing the A/C components. Also the weight loss will be negligible unless combined with removal of any other components. You may FREE up about 7hp or so but you probably won't notice the difference. The throttle kicks up a few RPM's when you engage the A/C anyhow. Google your particular engine and year for a good A/C Eliminator Kit and diagram on how to do it. GL.

Unpluggin the clutch switch is not going to throw a light.  I have stripped out my project car of ac basically because I do like it.  FYI: when you ac clutch is not engaged or your ac is not on it just becomes a pully.
