Got into a garage

Post by Rex 2.0 »

My brother finally got a bunch of crap out of his garage so I can bring my car in and finally to get some stuff done.  I spent last weekend helping him put rocks down to extend his drive way. Also helped him bring an assembled 8x10 shed home from lowes and put it on his property.  All the crap from the garage went into the shed.

Here are all the parts I have waiting to be installed.  I also have koni's that I am rebuilding. ÂÂÂ

New downpipe, billet dogbone, heat shielding (for shift cables?), vacuum hose it looks like, a Walbro pump, but whats the stuff on the right hand side?

You got most of them right.  New downpipe (no more cast iron that weighs 50lbs),billet dogbone, hose and box behind the hose are for the new steering rack which is in the long box on the bottom. I figured I would replace the hoses while I have it out.  I don't know what I am going to use the heat sheilding for.  I still had some left over from other things so I will find something to put it on. The shift cables is not a bad idea.  Walbro pump it is a 190. I forget the exact part number.  The things on the right are fe7 endlinks.  Napa has them available if any one needs some. (~$40 each)  Behind the heat sheild is some steel braided brake lines.   I need to get the tranny out as well to ship to EP.  I am having jeff install the lsd for me. To advanced for me.

Just an FYI, I delived my trans to him (I'm about 3.5 hrs from him in Atlanta) just before Halloween this past year.  I got the transmission back in the middle of January.

Depending on how close the downpipe is to the shift cables, I would definitely use the heat shielding on those... they are expensive, and the GM cables are the only good ones.

I've seen that melted rack many times with the 3400 (when i had the old manifold on it).  There is a fiberglass/foil heat wrap for it you can get from GM

Yeah it helped a lot. The bushings would be melted again by now with out it.  The rack was already to far gone to be saved.
