The Best Production Beretta

Post by z26beretta48329 »

Which production Beretta is the best.  I know that there has been a lot of changes over the years so lets here it.  I really rather not here people say "mine."
Some background info about me. I had a 96 z26 a few years back when I was 18 and I have been an enthusiest ever since.  I hit a wall with it then about 6 months later the head gasket blew at 125K  I have been following this site through the years.  Though many of my friends have cars with american V-8's I want another Beretta.  To me, it is one thing to pull up to a light and smoke someone off the line with an 8 but it is another to pull up to the light with a Beretta, get laughed at then smoke the V-8.  I love this car because I realize that it is the best sleeper out there. (plus I love chevys)  When I went to Lawerence Tech University our project was to build a plane.  The motor we used was a 550 horse Quad.

Tell me if I am on the right track, My personal favorite is the 94 z26 quad.  I do know that they are ultra rare but I think that they are the best.  Tell me which production Beretta you think is the best.

It has been pretty well generally agreed that the '92 Quad is one of the most desireable.

It's not one of the rarest, however it may well have been the best one.

'91 California Quad (Gone with just a bit of "Seller's Remorse".)
'92 3500 GT gone and not really missed. It was fun. Documented 13.47 N/A.

Like Eric says, the 92 GTZ Quad 4 is the best PRODUCTION Beretta.  It was the last year for the full 180hp engine and has the upgraded brakes, transmission, and other goodies.

My personal favorite is the 94 Quad Z26.  The hp dropped to 170 but I prefer the Z26 interior over the GTZ interior.

(SuzukiGhostRider @ Sep. 02 2008,12:58)QUOTEAgreed. '92 Beretta GTZ Quad.
I agree also from a performance standard.

HOWEVER my opinion is the 90GTZ because I like the pre91 interior better than the 91+

I prefer the 1989 GTU.  White with either grey or black interior.

1992 GT "W26" is probably rarer than the GTZ.  Especially if the W26 was a 5-speed.  It's probably pretty similar performance wise as well.

I don't have a lot of experience with models other than my base. How are the interiors of a '92 GTZ and a '94 Z26 different?

Slightly lighter gray color in 94-96's, different door panels, twilight dimming, drl's full plastic rear panels (no cloth inserts), etc etc.

The seats look more durable in the pre 94 Z interiors than in the post 94's. I like them both however.

I think the 88 base with a 2.0 and a 3 speed is the fastest. Some came with a granny rack too.
