So, what engine do you want? I would think that the 3.1 would be more easy. The 3100 and the 3400 have mounts that you don't. Just remember that you may need new springs with all that new weight. Then again, the Q4 may work better. Well I shut my mouth, I don't know anything about a swap for a 2.2.

Well I want to go with the 3.4 but I cant find much about it. I dont think I would go through the trouble of putting in an engine that came from the factory so I doubt I would go 3.1. But the quad 4 is a really neat engine but I know nothing about them and nothing about the swap..... All this and I need to worry about fixing her first. She runs great with only 100k on the clock but the thing is that shes has a few querks. 1. shes has a some weird knocking rattling clanking noise that come from the driver and passenger side front suspension area, I have taken apart and inspected many times but cant ever find whats wrong. Also on harder acceleration she has a clicking coming from the fron suspsnesion and has a bang noise upon intial take off. Also the shifts from 1-2 are pretty voilent on hard accel. I read some where about the throttle valve could be the hard shifts but I dont really know I am new to this "L-body" thing

The clunking/clicking noise that you are getting is probibly the torque strut mount(dogbone mount). It's located on the passanger botoom side of the engine. It's VERY common for them to go bad. They arent that expensive and arent that hard to do.

If you are looking for more of a "bolt in" type engine swap, look into a 3400. check this site out... www.3400swap.com. You'll get a lot of information on the swap there.
