Tail light assembly -- salt damage

I have some salt damage to my tail lights and the plastic piece between them, thanks to the Upstate NY winter and salt on the roads up here. Any ideas on how I can cover these white pock marks -- some sort of paint or something to remove them?? Thanks.
It looks like somebody lightly splattered some flecks of white paint on my rear tail light assembly, but it's salt damage. Thanks.

How deep are these pits? Can you take a photo of them? You may be able to sand them out, but you will need a polish to make it clear again.
