had to help the future father in law with his F-150... Man I hate those 4.6L engines... If you don't know where the plugs are, look it up and then maybe you'll understand hate them. And then I had some friends over to bask in the warming glow of my 65" TV and watch the Superbowl... lol. I hope to get out in the garage either tonight or tomorrow night and I'll be finishing building the short block... I got my pistons all cleaned up and I hope to get the rest of that stuff in, so all the vital parts will be wrapped up when I'm done and not exposed to aluminum flakes when I go to port the other head.

Also waiting on my MLS head gaskets and the crank scraper that I ordered. Hopefully I don't need valves, and I wont find that out till after I port the other head and bring them for a valve job and surface cleanup. I'm half tempted to just get the Manley valves if I do have any issues with these... rather than just buying another set of stockers

I looked, they are up by the intake, crazy.
How did the exhaust ports come out? Guess the rings were in good shape?

Rings were fine, never burnt any oil and there is still cross hatch in my cylinders... so why mess with it... lol

The exhaust ports are roughed in like the intakes now, I just need to get more cross buff wheels... I found some on McMaster, but they are for a 1/4 shank tool... I need to find cheaper heads that fit a dremel tool, OR get a 1/4 drive die grinder from the inlaw if he has one. Or just have one of the 1/4" mandrel's machined down to fit the dremel

Well the dremel is working better than any die grinder could as far as the porting goes... so really its just the cross buffing tools that I need... Sanding drums don't last worth of crap on aluminum....

What I need to do is buy one of these and mill the shank down to 1/8th to fit a dremel.

I just found a bunch of 1/8 shank mounted Nylon Mesh Abrasive bits from McMaster.com

Bought 2 of each of the following in medium grit, and fine grit.

That's cool, I like those. On the Eastwood stuff I was thinking more in the lines of those burrs that they are selling.

already got carbide burrs for the 1/8" dremel... I think the guy I borrowed them from got them from McMaster too...

Also having the flexible neck attachment for the dremel makes all the difference in the world.... you can reach, and your not stressing the bearings of the dremel anymore.

my $7 harbor frieght air die grinder works great... Their $7 "dremel", no so much... LOL their air tools are half decent, for the money the die grinder is damn good.

Yes those bearings support the cam very well! I like it, very nice. The rear is hanging out there a bit. No problems putting the plug in?
Wow, I have never seen lines on a piston like that. A little help for mixing I'd bet. I see the arrows telling which way they go on the right bank(front). I can't see them on the left.
I think I'm in love with that chain.
