Re: Finally done with the motor swap! has a bit of a miss. V
Yeah i read a book and had a friend that has experience helping me and showing me how to do stuff like that. I didnt think we messed up the water pump or timing.
Asylum- I didnt just buy a quad to buy a quad lol. I wanted a car for the garage that i could tear apart and learn how to do repairs and such. Thats when i came across this car. And its working,i know alot more than i ever knew.
I think alot of the sounds you are hearing is the camera picking up echoes in the garage, because its really not all that chattery.
Heres a few pics... I need to get some kind of elbow or something to get that one vacuum hose to stay on the intake tube where it needs to be..

I listened again, there is some ticking going on that shouldn't be. Just something to keep an eye on I guess.

NEVER and I repeat NEVER watch a video shot by a camera and think your hearing what you'll hear in person. I took a video of my car after I did my lifters because it was SILENT, but all you can hear in the video is tapping and pinging from the headers and what LITTLE top end chatter there is even from a stock motor... The camera amplifies those sounds unbelievably...
So really unless you hear the engine run in person I really don't think anyone can say the motor is overly noisy.
Prime example... For all those who saw my car at b-fest... Does it have anywhere near this much piston slap?

and remember that was before I took it apart last year but It still has the same pistons and rings in it, all in the same position too.

I hear no piston slap from your vid, but then again you don't have the hood open. I do hear the lope though.

You don't hear piston slap in that vid? All I hear is the tapping of the motor anytime the camera is toward the front of the engine.Travelor wrote:I hear no piston slap from your vid, but then again you don't have the hood open. I do hear the lope though.
Who said you need the hood open to hear piston slap anyways.

Don't get me going or I'll slap your piston.
