Flow of coolant in a quad.

Post by Rex 2.0 »

The new turbo is not water cooled so I would like to get rid of the coolant lines for it. I think Rex used the coolant lines for the throttle body but I don't know for sure since I never owned a stock quad. I have a service manual but it is hard to tell from the pics. If possible, I would like to plug both of these to get junk out of my engine bay. Otherwise I will just run a piece of hose to connect them. Green was in and red was out for the turbo.

Pat, your right about those lines, they are for the throttle body. You should be able to block them off without any issues.

Yup! I have those lines plugged on my 086 head and no issues at all. Just plug them, no sense having more hoses than you need under the hood if your looking to cut some fat. Just get some pipe plugs, wrap them with teflon tape, install and forget about them ;)

Ha Ha. I try not to have her buy me car stuff. She does not know much about them so I don't want her to buy a tea timer or something that sounds similar.

You guys make valid points but when it comes to Christmas presents lists are good. Around my place there is no limit to what can go on the list...just don't expect to get everything on the list, especially the expensive stuff and then it will be a surprise if you get it.

The more specific you are with the list, the better. Store name...make...model...even price are always welcome. That way you get exactly what you want (if we think you deserve it...lol). Just remember those lists go both ways.

We're not stupid. We know you're going to buy it eventually anyway so we might as well give you what you want and clear the need to find another gift you might like. One only needs so many socks, underwear and screwdrivers.

Try it. You never know :-)
