If you want a short throw shifter, you make something like this as i did:

Stock throw in my car with stock linkages from 3rd to 4th was 7". This kit i made is 3" on the same spread. From neutral, its roughly 1.5" to be in gear. Makes it stock height but removes the obnoxious throw
Mind you, this was prototype, my current reproduced one, is flawless

Your pic is basically identical to how mine looks, except for I have an extended on bottom, shortened on top stock flat beretta style shift arm, yours looks like a Fiero shift arm with the same mods!
