Yes, why and I'm not listing them all...

Most that don't trigger an SES are not vital.

just wondering if there were any "shadetree" things that can be done to improve overall performance that wont show on a obd. not necessarily performance mods but restorative and peak operation.

I have no idea what your talking about... Performance mods do not trigger SES lights unless they are done wrong.

He means little problems stacking up making you loose power. Dirty/collapsing cat, plugs being old, injectors not flow matched, etc.

Your computer can run fine with lots of problems under the hood, its not as advanced as you may think.

My 240sx had EVERY emission device removed, and the only hoses on the motor was a vac line for FPR and a PCV valve. Everythign else was blocked off, no SES light, idled and drove like it came off the factory floor.
