I don't think I would flip it.. my gf has been wanting a Beretta for quite awhile lol. I don't know if she will go the 5 speed or not but she can always have the 3400 Z and I will have the Indy haha

I got several PMs, but I don't think I got one from you? No, the floors are not wet. The seats aren't wet either. Only real moisture was a slightly damp headliner, and the rear window was foggy. Obviously, there's moisture somewhere... but it was closed up in a dark garage with no windows for a year and a half without sunlight. Mold thrives in a dark, high humidity environment...

As you know, I paid $100 over delivered scrap price (at the time) for mine. The seller will not get full scrap price if it's picked up instead of delivered! Depending on current scrap price and what the yard would charge for pickup, it's highly unlikely he'd got over $200 for it. If I bought it, I would clean everything, fix everything, and easily flip this car in a short period of time, (or keep it)! ;) Go for it Shawn! 4 is a good number of Beretta's! lol
Just FYI, our local yard quoted me $535 if I drive it in, $460 if they come and get it. It isn't really about the money, I just don't want to see it go to the boneyard.

WOW! I was just going on the scrap prices around here, I know they fluctuate quite a bit, but damn, we get the shaft here for $ per ton! The highest it's been here in the past few years is $210 a ton... Somebody pick this car up please!

I made my offer. I hate to say it but 300 is as high as I can go for the car itself. I would have to make the price of the car and the trip to get it with a truck and trailer to be less than 500.

Not to burst your bubble, but I have heard of places that do this SGR. Just because you haven't doesn't mean the options aren't out there. Up here the highest a ton was around the same, about 210. I got 200 a ton when I junked that 94 base.

The reason some places offer more, is because they partially strip the car for parts, as well as scrap it. I know of a few yards that operate this way.

I would have got 500 from the scrap yard for the indy I just sold and that was with keeping the wheels. And it would have been crushed asap without any parts taken off. I got 210 for a bare cavalier shell with no drivetrain,roof,doors or trunk on it.

I got $600 for a base I scrapped a couple years ago, and scrap prices weren't much higher then than they are now. I can't imagine why we can't find these cars anymore. Here's a guy trying to keep a car out of the crusher - one of the most rare pieces in this group - and he's either offered less than scrap price or cussed at. Wow. ANY car that runs and moves under its own power is $500 minimum. ANY car. go to an auto auction with $400 in your pocket - you'll get nothing. Scrap yards will pay that for a car knowing nothing about it. No motor, no trans, and rolled over a 3000lb. car is worth $300 just in crushed steel. This thing is worth 750-900 as it sits at least, and that's just going by what can be seen in the pictures.

Derrik - Thank you for keeping a rare car out of the crusher. If I was in a position to buy another car right now it would already be gone. I hope somebody with some restoration ability gets a hold of you soon, because that car is plenty salvageable if it's not rotting away underneath.
