Re: so i wanna paint my car.
I would go with Dupont or PPG for the paint. I used BASF clear.

Re: so i wanna paint my car.
I've used DuPont, PPG & most recently the product line from Summit. Candidly it depends on your skill level, equipment (including space/environment where you plan to paint) and budget. In my opinion & experience PPG is one of the best paints you can buy. However, compared to the Summit line its certainly more expensive.
When I sprayed the Beretta I went with Summit because I wasn't interested in spending the extra coin for PPG on a car that is headed to the scrap yard in just a few months. I found the Summit paint to be easy to spray, fairly forgiving & easy to color sand/polish. You can check the results in my photobucket site or Chad. He's seen the car in person.
Last note. Despite the comment above, I would never mix base coat & clear coat products from different manuf's. It may work fine. Or you might end up with pure crap after spending hundreds of labor hours & $$. Just my opinion.

What about paint gun brands? And how do you apply aircraft paint stripper?

Here in Cincy we had a place called PAINTERS LANE where you could go and do all your own work yourself from a total frame off to simple paint job yourself. You could rent any tool needed by the hour or go big and purchase diff package levels of resto work you were going to do. They had close to the top of the line paint booth, powder coating, sanding booths, welding, lifts, couple times a every few months they had a sodo blasting outfit come in and do cars that signed up for it, it was cool. I did two cars there. Sadly they only stayed in afloat for 3 years or so.

Re: so i wanna paint my car.
It was great. If I recall it had 3 lifts, 4 other opens bays, storage space for 3 to 4 cars inside, fenced in outside secured area if you were going to let it sit for a bit before you got back to it, plenty of guys around to help you if you got stuck on something. They even had reps from PPG or other vendors that supplied things to the shop come in and give seminars. Welding vendor came in and gave welding 101 type of classes. They had a room that you could watch video on various procedures during the stages of doing this or that to the car. It was a pretty top shelf set up. Great for the guy that knew how to do things, but didn't have all the tools, or the space, etc, to redo ones car from what ever stage you were at.
They had a fair amount of folks come in and use it but it never caught on and just didn't make it. I think the insurance issues in running something liek that was a big issue for them as I recall being told.

I agree with the PPG, if you want to use PPG and want to save money they have an economy line, its called Omni and it sprays pretty well. They have a matching primer and clear for the line, its not cheap paint, but its not Deltron. You are going to use more material on a cheaper paint.
Dennis car looks great for what he spent on material. However he dies have some experience and a nice and heated shop.
And that's a big +1 on mixing brands of paint and clear. You need to do some research or have a proven combination if you are mixing brands or you could end up with a piss yellow mess.
Offtopic, are you scrapping the car or was that just your feeling when you painted it? Lol

I knew from day 1 that the (black) yellow GTZ was going to have a limited lifespan. By late-spring or summer I will retire it and get something new.

Re: so i wanna paint my car.
I used Summit paint on the Beretta and my old man used it on his 72 Buick and it came out pretty good. It's good for beginners because it's super easy to mix. All coats have the same activator and same 4:1 ratio.
We both used single stage w/ clear before Summit came out with their base/clear system. If you want metallic, go for the true base/clear. I used a cheap Harbor Freight gun and I think that's where most of my problems came from...not the paint. If you're going a solid color like red/white/black...the single stage is fine.

Re: so i wanna paint my car.
What kind of paint and where can I get it? I want to paint the top part of the engine with yellow paint, same as the car and it needs to be heat resistant. Does the one in the auto parts will do the job?
