Re: Roberts 89GT Engine build.
What i meant about the 94 jackshaft not bolting onto the engine while the trans is attached i meant while in the engine bay... maybe if you lifted the engine a little to move the mount but not when its fully seated atleast i could not....
I never meant to say the 94 style would not work, Just wont bolt onto the engine and trans while attached in the bay... it is a good jackshaft now all this talk needs to end about jackshafts and we need more pics haha.

Oh yeah jon the heater tube got slightly bent when pulling it from the yard so if if you bend it back it will be a little closer to the engine.

Ok, who put the kindergarten bowtie on there? The proportions are all screwed up. haha And I can't say I like the gray/silver metallic mix, but it's nice and clean! The header coating came out really good.
Now let's see how it runs. Unfortunately I'm sure it will be faster than my car now. haha

Compare yours with one that is of the correct proportions and you can see the difference. The best way to paint one on the valve cover would be with a vinyl mask. Just some constructive criticism from a graphic designer. haha

Re: Roberts 89GT Engine build.
What do you mean by that? I've been busy and if its not during the week, I'm barely online on a full PC.. I typically check on the fly on my phone.scd88ga wrote: Jon, if you want to ignore my posts that's fine, the build looks great so far!
I had a stupid issue with the AC delete bracket but resolved that then Kurt pointed out to me that the front motor mount will not work anymore... LOL DAMNIT!
So I had to get creative.
I figured I could just sandwich the motor mount in the stack and just thin out the stock AC bracket spacer but once I thought about it I figured there wouldn't be enough clamping force on the motor mount to hold it solid and I was not about to risk it moving or making a clunking noise... So I quickly tested putting a nut on the threads since there was enough space and then I can treat the long bolt as a stud and clamp the motor mount with a nut then put an appropriate spacer after that to space to the AC delete bracket.
I am going to try this with a different set of nuts and washers and it should work out just fine, otherwise I'll go with a threaded rod in place of the bolt.

Test fitting with a nut

Just needs a washer to space properly or I can add 1-2 more threads on the bolt with a die...

Re: Roberts 89GT Engine build.
Only question you asked that I haven't answered yet is what PN is stamped on his motor bracket, sorry I haven't had the chance to look at that yet, I've been messing with so much stuff lately.scd88ga wrote:I think I asked a couple questions and answered a couple questions, I forget? I'll get that number tonight but it should be irrelevant if you plan on sending me that J-body bracket anyways.
the seal I ordered since I didn't have a PN in hand was 3543... I got the number from RA it listed it as
Getrag 282 5 Spd. Manual Transaxle
Left; Isuzu MFD-5M 5 Spd. Manual Transaxle
Right; Isuzu MFD-5M 5 Spd. Manual Transaxle
So I should be good.

Re: Roberts 89GT Engine build.
Scratch all that mount mumbo jumbo... I just got the right delete pulley from Advance auto that appears to use his existing bracket that will bolt right back on.
