Can you elaborate on why you had to braze? Couldn't you MIG it?

I don't have a MIG in my garage... I borrow the welder from my father in law when I have projects to do but I physically do not own one... Also a braze is a much nicer looking job when it comes to that. And well that's how they are held together from GM so I just re-did them that way.

And honestly if I were to be doing that with a welder I would have preferred to do it with a TIG since it's small tacks, and a tack weld with a MIG doesn't get good penetration due to no heat. The braze and TIG get the pipe cherry red before bonding.

Robert, I tracked the jack shaft and due to the holiday's it says it wont be here till Wednesday the 30th, or at least that's the scheduled delivery.

Everything is looking fantastic Jon! Yeah, this week is a crappy week to ship out parts and receive them in a timely matter, but oh well, what can you do? It costs $20 to get them there in that time period as-is! I also have a hefty collection of Rock Auto magnets lining my fridge here! :) lol

Installed the OBDII port yesterday...

Robert... you may not know the answer to this question, but what is your other ECU still doing in the car? Does that run the dash and such? Reminds me of Patricks Rex mobile... he had the Electromotive for the engine and the stock ECU was doing the dash and whatnot... Had a bunch of codes thrown when we hooked up to it just to see what it was doing.

Either way I ran the data line in through the grommet with your cruise harness picked up power from the old OBDI port and grounded it... Got the DHP to blink so all should be good, its in the exact location as the original port.

Re-installed the coolant tank too to see if that does have a crack or if it was the hose leaking, I put a new clamp on it. Bay is back together for the most part, just waiting on the jack shaft, and I could actually lower the motor in place now if I wanted as well as install the trans and just use the hoist to lift the engine off the mount... I may do that so its like a 15 min job to finish the car on Wednesday.

The ECM under the dashboard is there for the dash to work.
Jeff and i spent over a month picking though wires and making the harness work for the car.The swap was done almost three years ago.And i've never had one problem so i think it's fine.Maybe it's better to test fit the jackshaft with everthing still out?But i've never done it so just guessing.

That's what I'm going with, I know it will fit fine and there is plenty of room back there to work.

Ok i figured that's what the ECU was for but I'm assuming the ses output is fed from the GA ecu to the dash tho to get that to work right. I will say everything that is spliced was done right and looks good, I think just some of the harness could use more loom and tape to look more complete but as noted that's easy for you to do after.
