video of my indy!!

Post by indygurl »

shes not even close to being done. but i wanted to post the video. one of the reasons why is because my gauges are all messed up. and i have no idea why.. only half of them work if even. i had alot wrote but i forgot to copy before i posted and it logged me out and i dont feel like writing it. it is missing the cat that is why it is so loud and it has a magnaflow exhaust. one of the brake lines are bad thats why the light is on. well here is the link

Actually the light is on because there is barely any fluid in the master cylinder. But the gauges are confusing me. The fuses seem good. maybe the harness came loose???

It could be the cluster going bad. There is a place that will rebuild it with a warranty, a previous member did that to his digital dash and it worked well afterwards.

Sure don't like the sound of that tip. Is there an exhaust leak or is it just that tip?
For the love of monkeys put some oil on the door hinges and grease that thing that holds the door open(forget what its called).
Again I ask, is there anyway to make sure the last owner doesn't have kids?
The idle is good. Over all a nice find, glad you saved it from the crusher.

Yeah don't like the tip either. And as jking said there is no cat. Just the flex pipe. Hope to have it done better this weekend. But for the price I paid its worth what needs to be done. And I'm not afraid to do it. And yeah I know the door squeeks I cringed when I was doing the video and opened and closed it. Also the reason the pass seat is out is because I need to get a few pieces for it. There is also the place that jkings dad sent his mustang cluster to have it fixed. Don't know who they are but they did a great job. And sent business cards. Lol

Ok I just thought the cat was bad. That is a very common thing for an older car.
Yeah I hate the sound of a creaking door. Made me cringe too. To me it makes a nice old car look like a POS. I have my pride, so it gets done quick. Too bad there is not a zert so you can grease the hinges on these cars. Spray oil doesn't last long enough. One of those old oil cans that push with your thumb (on the bottom)would almost be better. With engine oil that is.

yeah i used spray lubricant and it didnt last long my father has the really old oil gun that i will use next time im there. also about my gauges not working properly i got ready to take them out and this is what i found. i am guessing this may be why they are not working. who ever did this is an idiot.

That is not what I wanted to see. My guess the rake guy, looks like his kind of work. Your going to need a Chilton's to sort that out.

Thats from an old alarm or radio that used to be installed... It seems to be tapping off the main ignition power wire and something else, but yes get a diagram to see what those two other wires go to.

It doesn't look like anything is damaged other than the main harness wires are stripped back and those are spliced in... but just double check to ensure there isn't just three wire ends twisted together under that tape... if so I would remove the dead end and crimp the factory harness back together.

The wiring is a hack job. He didnt even use the connectors, just taped together. If these wires are for the sterio, why couldnt he just get a 10 dollar harness to install it right? I do have a haynes manual that we can look through.
