Finally found a good engine! Non VVT 3500 with 42k on it, $500! TylerLP is helping with the install, since he has all the equipment and is more than excited to do it. I also talked with Mike over at Milzy for about half an hour to figure out what I'll need and what I don't for the swap. I ordered all the necessary brackets for the swap so everything fits properly, and I also finally ordered a set of Bosch 36 lb. injectors. The crank trigger is on back order, so they'll ship it out with the brackets once it's back in stock.

I did get one go fast goodie already though, my Dacco 2760 stall carbon clutch torque converter! I really have no excuse for not doing this when the 3100 was originally pulled...

My 3k stall carbon clutch converter next to my old stock one... You can tell yours is a high stall seeing how your stator fins are going in the same direction as my Rev Max converter.



Right now I'm actually afraid to put it in seeing how my last carbon clutch converter slipped in lockup.

I'm hoping I don't run into any issues with mine, I remember reading about the issues you had with the RevMax. It comes with a one year warranty and is a reman unit, so at least I know it's been gone through. That's interesting about the fins too, helps me feel more confident that I got what I ordered too!

I talked with a Dacco rep for a while and we had a discussion about what I was doing with the car and what options I could go with, and we both agreed on this one, so we'll see how it holds up! For only $170, I'll definitely give it a shot.

Small update -

The new engine was picked up, and I've received all of my gaskets, along with some header wrap and 36 lb. injectors. I also have a new 180* thermostat and the proper cam sensor. Just waiting on my parts from Milzy, and they'll be shipped once the crank trigger is back in stock.

Is that purple canister for vacuum? Missing front bolts on the strut mounts?

It's one of those cheap eBay canisters, it's coming off lol. I had strut braces running off the strut towers to the front too, the bolts are out because they're off.

Well the numbers used by rebuilders are the same as GMs designation for the stall.

I actually just picked up one of these for $130 as a spare if my RevMax one doesn't work out again. At least I would have a 2700 stall to use rather than putting back in the 2095 that's in there.

I went ahead and posted a few part numbers in the torque converter thread I made quite some time ago, they're all Dacco's too. They're remanufactured in the states, so they have to be decent quality as well...

Damn external crank trigger!!

Once it's in stock, all my parts ship! Which they said was going to happen two weeks ago. After saying it would be about two to three weeks before they got more in. At the beginning of July.

should have bought the internal one that BCC sells... I had it in less than a week.
