Going by the pics above, did you dismount your tires and then not want to re-balance them... hence the arrows and marks on the tire where the weight and valve line up.

Correct Jon. As I'm sure you know , by doing that , the tire goes back into the same position thus keeping it's balance.

But the reason the tires were removed was 2 out of 4 had nails in them when I got the car up in the air the first day at the shop. 2 in one tire , 1 in the other. Both on the passenger side strangely enough. I've since put a better set of Bridgestone tires on anyhow (a spare set I had with no dry rot on the sidewall around the rim and 50% tread) for an interim set until I get my new Ziex 512's or Kelly Chargers.

You'll notice those same two tires were when the directionals were facing the WRONG WAY. That's why I said passenger , but in the pics they reside on the DRIVER'S side. They'd been patched and moved to the correct wheels.

So, pics. I tried to get some "in the dark , lit up" pics, but I think they turned out for ass. The flash is SUPER bright on my 10.1MP cam, so the lit up ones are the flash. Got home about dark-thirty tonight, so BARELY got the decal pic in daylight. Sorry guys, but here's the pics.

"Small" digicams cant focus in the dark, SLR's will flash during focus as well or have some additional lamp to focus...

Well, some of the newer small digital cameras do have a focusing light.

So, what do we all think of the decal?

On another note, I'd love to hear some Quad HO owners chime in on this one. At what mark on your temp gauge do your fans normally tend to kick on? 1/2, 3/4, etc.

Bearing in mind, halfway is approximately 190* ( You can guess this as the t-stat factory (which my replacement was , factory temp) open is 195* and happens JUST above half on the gauge) and 3/4 I'm guessing is about 220* or so.

I put my new pigtail on the CTS today, and let the car idle, but for some strange reason now, the car (no matter how long I let it idle) won't go above approximately 205* , about halfway between half and 3/4 on the gauge. I seem to recall the fan on the SCX wouldn't kick on until 220* or roughly 3/4 on the gauge which I find frightfully late.

So , I need to see when other Quad HO owner's cars are kicking the cooling fan at idle.

Ok, so apparently, I just wasn't giving the temp high enough to kick the fan. The other day BEFORE I put the new pigtail in , I let it hit around 230 *F and then was worried about popping a headgasket, so I took it for a run to cool down. Tonight, after putting the new pigtail in yesterday, the fan kicked on right at 223 *F which is JUST above 3/4 on the gauge. So , the pigtail was bad as I suspected. So that's another problem solved. Still scary how late Quads will wait to kick the fan.

i had my fan in the quad z rigged, that baby ran 24/7, if the car was on, the fan was on, just another one of the many things i did to ensure id never over heat the bitch....

easy way to make the fan run all the time.. find the fan relay and run the ground wire to the engine or somewhere to ground it out. when you turn on the key it will come on. mines hooked up like that so i know its not going to over heat.

I know where my fan relay is and I know I could ground it to a toggle. I may do that yet, but for now I'd prefer not to.

Decal is not going anywhere. It's part of the advertising for my business. Sorry no one likes it, but it's there to help bring income in, not a fashion statement.

Actually, most of these cars are supposed to be able to run hot... You should know this... lol

As for your gas tank.

First off, I'm guessing the reason mine was only 100 bucks from rockauto was because it was among the "more popular" version, that being for the later years. If you could upgrade to that tank, it certainly would be cheaper, as from my perspective, 100-125 for a gas tank is a hell of a lot better than what 300-400? But then again, I suppose the guts have to be changed to match, the straps were cheap so those weren't an issue, but still there has to be a way to fix that up.

Car is looking better, just need to get to the cosmetics soon now. lol
