The E36s do not fit right. You can get away with it on a dark colored car like Mark's or Kurt's where you can't really see the gaps...but with my gray or your white especially, it will look shitty because the gaps stick out like a sore thumb.

Your progress is looking good! Makes me jealous since mine is just sitting around. haha

Alrighty! Today i was able to get some more stuff done. I stopped at Napa and got a bunch of split looming for the harness, an oil filter, and took out to the shop my original front bumper, oil, coolant and a 94 NVT selector arm.

First order of business i took care of was the wiring. The original one was was in such bad shape appearance-wise i had to do something about it. I spent about an hour or so removing the bad parts, and redoing most of it. Wasn't too bad to do, just time consuming. The end result made me smile. It now matches the rest of the engine bay on the cleanliness factor.

Second thing i dealt with was the 1-2 selector cable issue. Since the stock selector arm is rather tall, it requires a longer throw to put the lever thru all 3 shift points. Since the N-body cable is a hair longer than the L-body cable, i put in the 94 NVT selector arm to remove some of the distance the cable had to travel so i could get the car in 1st and 2nd from inside the cabin. After a couple tweaks, i had it installed and it works great! I now have full range of gear selection again :) and the bonus, i have ALOT less selector/side to side movement in the shifter.

I also got the power steering pump drive pulley repainted so i can get that reinstalled to cover up the end of the intake cam. Thats nothing really special but something else i did. I also managed to grab a pic of the radiator and the coolant overflow tank. I also remembered while i was in my shed this morning, that i have a perfect/mint set of door hinges that i was going to install on my car as mine are kinda getting to that point. When i pull the fenders, or when i find better doors, i will swap those in.

I installed the smaller 00+ starter today too. Its so much smaller looking when its attached to the motor. It will be interesting to see how it sounds on my engine. I hear on the Quads, they sound alot different than they do on the 2.4's.

As soon as my parts are all here on friday, this weekend im making a full forced effort to get her back on the road. I miss the sound of her exhaust, screaming intake and feel of the power coming on full blast at 4k and shifting 7k. Soon, very soon, i will be able too :) On to the pics now!

Harness ready to go back in, didnt reloom the lighting harness as it was in great shape, other than a lil dusty.

The harness back in the bay. Most of the harness is just hanging there, but once the rest of the parts are installed, it will look nice and tidy in there :good:

The mess i have made since i have been working on her. You can see a rolling shelf unit in the background with cavy 2.4 parts all over it.

The pile with stuff that still needs to be installed under the hood.

I was also able to get my old intermediate shaft and passenger axle apart today. Didnt take as much effort as i thought it would. From what i can tell the axle is the cause of the two parts sticking together. Looking at this pic, i dont see any damage to the I-shafts splines.

Will have more coming this weekend :Bravo:

I used to do that, but now I've gotten to the point that I've taken it apart so many times as long as I just put all the bolts in one dish I can figure out where they go when going back together... it's kinda sick. However if I just lay them down somewhere... I'm typically f-ed and loose them. LOL

Yeah same here, i just like covering my bases. I also have a 2.4TC motor torn down close by, so another reason for the bags.

Got the last of my hoses today, so this weekend is going balls to the walls! :Bravo:
