Yeah, I bought the malibu for the wife. Bought me some freedom to do what I want with my toys. It's a true bastard; 08, new bodystyle but old 3.5L V6.

Very good looking GTU. I just wish mine looked this good. Which GTU is going for the calendar picture?

I'm going to try to get the white one in the calendar. The black one is still in pieces.

Progress update: I took care of all but one of the oil leaks (oil pan gasket left to do) and the trans pan gasket and filter that was also leaking. I cleaned out the upper and lower intake manifolds along with the valve covers which also got powdercoated.

Looks Great. Just out of curiosity why didn't you paint the upper intake (the part that says 2.8 I forget what it is called)? Do you have different color plans for that part?

Time for some updates!

After dealing with the issues when I bought the car I still wasn't happy with the automatic trans. So I decided to swap in a 5-spd that a buddy gave me. Then he informed me that there was a local yard with a small stock of 3500s that were dirt cheap so.......

So here's a list of what was done:

Installed a 3500 from an 05 malibu with 16k on it.
Swapped in a full 5spd setup
Installed freshly powdercoated k-frames with welded and powdercoated control arms and del-a-lum bushings
Installed poly bushings for the front swaybar and endlinks and added the addco rear swaybar
Had a full 2.5" exhaust made with a magnaflow ss cat, flowmaster 40 series ss muffler, and borla tips
Also went with a set of lightweight rims.

There's more I'm forgetting but that's a start.

It's addictive to drive, that's for sure. No rear discs yet, the ones I have are for the black car. I may pick up another set if I come across them tho as the brakes are now the weak point by a wide margin. Toying with the idea of throwing on the wilwoods but I really dont want to buy another set for the black car in the future, so I'll probably just go with the 92-up set-up.

The second pic is before i had the exhaust done.
