mine must have been cracked, ready to pop right off... i got the special socket on the plastic to try to get to the metal, and it would not reach, and then pulled it off only to get nearly all of the plastic part of the switch off... then the metal end that was left was really easy to get off.

unfortunately, my local shop set me up with a bum or the wrong sensor... nice AC delco one, with the proper 3 prong connection for my gauge cluster (the plastic portion was only about 3/4 as tall as the old one...figured newer update...)... but oil pressure is pegged up top when engine on. unplugged sensor gives me quick immediate peg when on. but no more serious oil leak... until next time

Yup, they either didn't ask you if you have a gauge on your dash or you gave them wrong info so they gave you a sensor that is meant for the dash that only has the light. The long sensor is considered the analog sensor and the short one is considered the digital one.

yep, i told him that 3 times, gauge cluster, not just a light...i suspect he had this one on his shelf he just wanted to move! it is a shorter stalk... i suspect for newer obd2 31-3400 cars it might have changed?

No its a shorter stalk because its for the light only option he gave you the wrong part, bring it back... nothing changed they are all the same short means no gauge, long means dash gauge.
