They sent the wrong engine and that's that. If they do side with the company I'd tell them that you are going to go with another card. Hope it all works out for you and you get a new engine.

you know, it looks like that block slipped through the drilling when being made, weird.
If if it comes right down to it, take the bock to a machine shop and have it drilled out. bring along your old block so they can take the measurements that they need. I don't think it would be too hard for them.

Nah, it might be a RWD block, or possibly a REALLY early FWD block.

Does the starter bolt on? RWD engines have the starter on the other side.

well, anycase check for casting IDs and see what it really is. this is really strange!
