This is a common part to any Beretta/Corsica tilt column. 87 to 96. I've replaced several, even one on my own car.
I made a puller for the "tilt" pins out of long screws, several nuts, washers and a piece of tubing.
I wish I could post pictures, but don't have that ability.

I love the Haynes service-manual's answer to those pivot-pins too -"if your vehicle is equipped with tilt-column, take it to a dealership for service." Seriously, the tool costs like $4 -it is only good for a few uses before it breaks usually, or you can buy the Strap-On version that may last for five or six uses before it breaks. At least the whole column isn't prone to breaking at that point, like the Ford's tilt columns of the era were.

While you have that whole thing apart, you might want to look at the little gear on the lock cylinder that engages this little gem of GM engineering, and make SURE it is properly secured on the lock. I got stuck in a 7-11 parking-lot with my '90 Turbo 'Retta because of that POS. I re-secured the gear with aircraft stainless-steel safety-wire and re-dimpled the pot-metal of the lock that holds it in place -it is 10x better than new and will outlast the rest of the car.

It is similar but not "common". My tilt has "key release" because it is a 5 speed, not "park lock" like an auto.

This is the one I got from Travelor just recently (MAJOR props to him !!) It is about .030 inches longer from top to bottom and there is no groove.



This is what it looked like after modifying to fit. I had to shorten it up a little over that .030 and grind some off so the key release tabs line up to allow it to continue through so the cylinder releases the key (toward the steering wheel about another rack tooth or 2):



It seems to work great now. These are available online still if anyone wants to know just look around by part number.
I'll be damned if I could find any "key release " versions though!!

My original is 26012697 for key release and impossible to find.
26030896 is park lock and very easy to find. That is the one I modified.

Is the grove the only modification you had to do?

I compared my old one to my new one and they look exactly the same and match perfect???



I plan to get this done this weekend.

Also, what tools did you use to this sensitive weak part?
