Mines not hitting the tray, its hitting the battery's corner. I need like a half inch of clearence.

I'm referring to the battery... I didn't have to move anything because the optima is not square cornered... its round.

Yeah, i wish i had the cash for an Optima, but its a bit overkill for the car.

all my batteries have been horizontal in the bay, not vertical like pictured above. Also, some beretta's (from what I've owned, and seen) dont always have that cut out for the CAI like Jon's car and some others.

When I had a tranzgender intake, I never installed it 100%. I basically just used pieces from it and went straight into the side of the fender and partial of the battery base then down while ovaling the tube to fit where needed. One bend of about 45* and a cone filter.

All the 94-96 Berettas have the cut out for the cold air setups. Its the earlier 88-93 with the older trays that do not have it. Either way, im still needing to know how people are moving the tray without chopping the tray to crap.

Of the few 94's and 95's I've parted out, there were a few to stick out in my memory for having that hole and some didnt.

I didn't modify my tray as I've been using an Optima like Jon has already pictured.

Yeah im still kinda lost. I had the battery and tray out and still didnt see how people are moving them with little modification....

Took the tray out last night and studied it a little more closely. Once the tray is out, there are two nipples that stick down and insert into the body/fender area just below the tray. You knock off those two little nipple and remove the upper corner of the tray that normally supports the factory air box. Then, you put back in the securing bolt that is in the corner by the headlight and fender and rotate the tray inboard about a centimeter (all it allows you too), and redrill the mounting holes in the frame rail and reattach the tray to the frame. Bolt the battery back in and done. Maybe I should do a write up sometime for this so we can pin it...

posting just a few pics with your last post there would be all the write needed.

I don't know what to say, never drilled or cut anything. Still I was able to move it over enough and that was with a "normal" battery. Could have had something to do with how you set up the tubes. Mine is touching the battery right now so I need to make some adjustments.
Do you have a "solid" lower trans mount(dogbone)? That helps keep the the intake from moving too much.

Cars is a 95, there is no solid trans mount option less i make it myself and the lower dogbone is still stock. I will try and get some pics this weekend and get it posted up shortly after.
