Very nice paul.  You know the sad part about it all is that I saw the car at the dyno after you were done and never thought anything of it as I was too late to actually see it on the dyno.  I never knew it was turbocharged until later in the week and never came across you to get a peek saturday or sunday.

Very nice though, that turbo is sure packed in there huh.  how high from the bottom of the pan do they have the return line?  What size is that turbo?  Looks kinda like a T3

Oh its pretty close, from experience and a long time ago he sent me the "kit layout" *a picture of all the parts laid down*  The turbo is literally right off the rear exhaust manifold.  Its like chopping off the entire extended section of a 3.1 rear exhaust manifold and welding the flange right to the log.  The turbo picture had no visible marking though.

Everything looks amazing! I love how the car looks even after all those years! I don't think I've ever seen the amp rack and a lot of the things you had in these pictures -- thanks for the closer look.

You should bring that thing to Chicago's WOW if we ever get a few of us to bring our cars and exhibit.    I liked the car since i first saw at Holsts house before St Louis.  



When you install the fold down rear seat you cut the middle tab out and there is a rubber piece that covers the metal edge.

I installed the return line as high up as possible in the pan without it interfering with bolting the pan up tight.

The turbo is an IHI RHB5. It is currently replaced by the RHF5.
When I get around to engine mods and fuel upgrading I am switching to an RHF55 compressor wheel. The turbos are interchangeable  from what research/calling I have been able to do. The wheels come as a kit and the compressor housing is reused. Blade pitch and design are the biggest difference.

I thought about it ,Erich, and I just didn't want to cut it out. If I get old and grey and want the original back seat returned, it's one less thing that I had hacked up. I do have the rubber piece saved up somewhere.. ÂÂÂ

There is already a couple of things that I cannot reverse. The sunroof was a necessary evil, though.

did you design that amp rack and are you willing to give the dimensions so i can build one for my GTZ??

I've seen this car once and have been madly in love with it for a long time.   I love the first pic, it's vintage. ÂÂÂ

One thing that I really remember was from Bfest 03.  On the way to the dyno after McDonalds there was a bit of a race on a 3 lane road.  From left to right, Choate's 92 GTZ, your GTU, and Nate's 3400 5spd 92 GT.  It was amazing that we all caught a light together, especially with Rex being behind us too.  I had the uber pleasure of riding shot gun in Aaron's GTZ for it and I'm never going to forget that.  Especially since you don't run your GTU at the track. ÂÂÂ

Good times, good times.  Rock on Paul.  Hopefully I can see your GTU again sometime soon!


edit:  One thing I forgot!  I seem to remember that we ended up racing past the dyno shop and having to turn around in morning Milwaukee traffic!
