I meant maybe other cars from GM got the seals stock... _shrug_ Sort of how when you get rear shocks they give you all the extra bushings and washers that you don't end up using....

I would almost go for that one

But those bushings physically don't fit anywhere... these seals on the other hand when installed right

they fit.
Either way I use them every time and its always worked for me. To each his own, as noted its not "required".
IIRC unless Woody changed it the knuckles I gave him from Pinky with the bearings calipers, rotors and pads... (HOLY F'IN HEAVY BOX) those had both the lip seal in the back for the axle, and the o-ring seal on the front to seal the bearing, and those were Timken bearings too...

I have swapped wheel hubs to ever L-Body i have owned now.. Timken ones did came with new seals to install, but AC-Delcos did not, and they also had a big printed note in the box that told to remove possible old bearing seals before installing the new hubs.

Well now we know where your rotational mass losses are coming from...

Yeah the fact that I removed all my heavy L-body stuff and put on even HEAVIER F-body rotors... This was never a mystery to me.
I hopefully will be shaving that down by at least 16-18lbs from what I added... approx 25lbs...
