got the tranny disconnected and engine pulled.I forgot the damn bracket everyone told me to check.Duh.getting old.
I read on the internet I could either leave the hood on or take it off MY CALL.I decided to tie the hood back with a rachet tie-down to the rear bumper. the wiper binded on the windshield and CRACK. lower pass side.Didn't even piss me off.went ahead and pulled engine, painted tranny and engine bay.looks great.
Thank you all to have posted you have helped me out a bunch.

next time just have someone hold the hood open all the way as you pull the motor... Then drop it back down on the hood prop.
And you forgot the bracket that goes from the tail shaft to the trans? or did you not have the lower motor dogbone mount out yet too?

Dogbone Mount was out,I removed the tailshaft mount on the replacement engine/tranny.Thought I removed it from the car,but wanted to keep it in place until I moved the car to my pulling spot.
One man band here! my son is helping me little by little when he gets off work.he was already at work when I started pulling the engine.
didn't install engine yet, taking my time, replacing sensors and painting parts and such.yesterday it was 100 degrees here in Tn.when it's that hot,I am in no big hurry.Car has been down for at least 7 years.1 or 2 more days isn't gonna hurt.
want to do the job at my own pace, don't want to XXXX anything else up,plus I don't want to be under it 2 weeks from now replacing something stupid I can't get to easily.
