Stock cam.05 Duration 197/197.3 Lift 0.436/0.435 ICL113 LSA112

No it's not a huge gain on duration, but thats what will give him a reasonable street idle that will have a little lope to it, but the .533 lift is where he is going to gain the power. He found a good deal on the cam on WOT-Tech and if he's not satisfied with it we can always swap it in the future, that's rather easy to do.

With the 3500 top end it should be enough to get him what he wanted to but still drive the car normally.

And that's the best way to make power with street manners. I dont think it will lope much...I just put a 204/207 cam in the truck and it's smooth as silk. Same thing though, I went with a lot more lift than stock to get the power and keep low end.

Man, Guys i really need to do a 3400 5-speed swap that engine bay looks so sexy with that engine in there. How much do you think it would cost all together for a 93 GT? (3.1 Auto) Just around about including everything? Engine trans all the little odds and ends and labor too cuz i have never done a swap like that before. LOL And it looks like your a Pro 3x00-Modified!

That duration change on a V6 vs a V8 may produce a different sound. 206 IIRC was the same duration that was on my milzy cam but that only had 496 lift or something like that, possibly less. And that sounded like this

Red car Idle with Milzy cam

Second vid

I know its not going to be like this

Yeah, less displacement does sound different with the same cam...that's true. I heard a 280H in a 302 once and it sounded WAY nastier than it does in my 355.

Sweet looking mods Robert! I have no doubt Jon will do excellent work. He and I may fight like cats and dogs, but I will not dog his work on the 60* cars! I'm sure he'll do a very nice job! Looking forward to hearing that beast rumble!

I'll be attacking this hard tomorrow had a few other things pop up tonight. I hope to have the motor out and it on the stand, and maybe even have a lot of it apart, but then again this is my first 5-speed teardown but I doubt getting the trans out will be any harder than my auto.

I've had the trans out in 40 mins before.
The biggest pain is the bolts for the trans mounts.
Very little room i had to use a 18mm gear wrench.
Yeah jon does really nice work his car is nice=)

Drop it out the bottom, it's easier. Then separate the trans out of the car. There's not too much room to disengage the input shaft with it in the bay.

I'm going to stick to my tried and true method of pulling one out the bottom and the other out the top. It's just always worked for me and I have the trans jack and engine hoist to do it so it shouldn't be hard at all.

Well yeah I wasn't expecting it to weigh much at all. the Auto is 204lbs full. the 4t65e is 214lbs... I think you can see why I would go to the 65e if I start breaking stuff... Only 10lbs and lots of aftermarket.
