What 3400 parts did you put on this engine? I know there is a big difference between the IAC passages on the 3100 vs the 3400 TB and upper intake so if you miss matched those two parts you may be choking off the IAC all together.
3400 TB swap IAC mod for 3100 plenum etc

When swapping a 3400 TB (56mm) onto a small port 3100 you gotta mod it so the IAC passage gets air to the motor. (You will also need to port the plenum to take advantage of it, but better to upgrade the whole intakes).

Same deal when using a 3400 TB on a 3500 plenum with the TB adapter. (you also need to use RTV or cut your own single layer thin cardboard custom over-sized gasket).

One of the pictures below explains it. Enjoy.

occasionally the injectors get lazy or gummed up. sometimes a quick tap with a screwdriver and small hammer will fix them. you can listen to them with a screwdriver or stethoscope to see if they are working. we just fixed a porsche 944 at the shop like that the other day ran like new after we tapped on the injectors, the car had been sitting probably 5 years. I had the same thing happen to my Z26.

You know I didn't even think about that. You did so well on the TB I thought you would have checked that.

I didnt know.. i thought it was a direct bolt on LOL.. omg i cant believe this.. its been like that since i bought the car a year ago, only in the winter it started idling weird, in the summer it would level out and stay running when it was warm out.

So i took it off and ground it out, and while i was at it i by passed the coolant lines. starts good now, starts up and idles like a brand new car, its good for another 300,000 KM now haha.

You know i would never have looked at that and found it, i was going to do plugs and wires next. ive already changed the IAC like 10 times now thinking thats what it was, guess it doesnt work anyways when the port is plugged off..

Edit.. i guess its not a direct bolt on because the throttle linkage needs to be changed, but i thought that was all.. im such an idiot LOL..
Im so happy it starts and idles good now.. thank you so much Jon for pointing that out.. id still be stuck figuring it out by next year LOL.. i was trying to speed up my process of getting my 3400 and get it built to get rid of all my problems, but im good now for a while still haha.

I only thought of it after I re-read the main topic about you having a 3400 TB... I was thinking before that it was a complete 3100 still.

well im very happy you pointed that out.. id still be lost on this and just deal with it like i have been, but now its running like a new car again its nice not to have to hold the gas to start it.

Ive had the 3400 TB on it since a week or 2 after i bought the car.. that was last April.

I should have thought about that. When I bought some 3400 intakes from a JY online they sent me 99 intakes and a 2000 TB. I told them only 2k stuff and the sent that anyway. Funny thing is I had to send a link to them from 60* to show them where the problem was. The port would have been blocked off. They thought it was all the same.
Sorry man I dropped the ball on that one. Just had to go downstairs and look at the parts that I have on hand. That and I do know about it without looking. Guess I was thinking about my own stuff. Just dumb.
