i got mine after a mack truck slammed into the rear end of my 85 blazer(aka.....the hoopty...the bucket....the shitbox) it totaled the blazer and left me with 4500 in my pocket. i had only gotten my license around 6 months earlier. that was in late february and used the blazer for about 4 months to get back and forth to school. the frame was warped, it had no passenger side window and the brakes sparked if you got down on them hard. how that thing didnt catch on fire i will never know.

i took a couple hundred to the local chevy dealer and dropped it as a down payment on my 95 base and the love ensued. it wasnt my first car technically but i have erased all memory of the crap box. since then i have owned:

i traded my beretta in on a brand new mazda truck right after we got married. i turned the truck back in after a couple of months b/c of transmission problems.

went and bought a dodge neon. sucked period.

traded that in for a s-10 extreme. cool truck and all but it just wasnt the same.

traded the s-10 for a jeep liberty when my son came along. i drove it for 7 years with out one problem and liked it alot.

but guess what...................it wasnt a retta! i filled the 10 year itch last summer with my base and eventually i will have it just right. until then its my favorite project. if something happens to this one, i will get another one. and if something happens to that one i will get another one.........

I remember liking the looks when they first came out but I didn't need a car at that time.
Then my oldest daughter was needing her first car and a Beretta was the only car we saw
that wasn't rusted through in multiple places. I later learned about the galvanizing.
We bought a 1990 and it was beat but solid. I worked on it to get the bugs out and she
drove and loved that car but the numerous dents made us look for a nicer one since she
had experience now. I bought her a 92 but that's a long story.
I found a 96 Z26 with a bad motor, bought it and had a guy install a used engine.
During my many test drives, I liked they way the car drove and it was comfortable.
She still drives that car today. We sold the 90 but my daughter got cold feet and almost canceled
the deal because she was attached to the 90. But common sense prevailed.
I found another 96 Z26 for sale that needed some TLC but it was pretty clean
and the seller gave me a deal I couldn't refuse. So I bought that one too. It's that same color
as my daughter's, red. I drive that one. I notice when it's clean and shined up, that people will
look at it and stare. I wonder if it's because it looks good to them or just old?
The wife mostly drives our mini van but when she has the chance, she loves driving the Beretta.
We have a 68 Camaro and two Turbo Regals but we enjoy the driving Beretta just as much.

I was Chevy-crazed since I was a little kid. My parents had a sports card store from 91-94ish and it got me in to Nascar. When I was 14 my dad bought a 66 Chevelle 350/4spd and that was actually the first car I ever drove.

When I was 16 with cash in hand the local car lot had an 88 Monte SS that I went in to buy only to find out it was their mechanic's new project car - but he was selling his current car: a 90 GTZ. I fell in love with the GTZ as soon as I saw it - the styling on these cars is really sharp. Reminded me of a third-gen Camaro...but better for winter driving and mileage. And I loved to beat the piss out of that Quad4. Smoked my buddies Firebird with it. It saw a lot of RPMs...haha I pretty much ran that car in to the ground having fun with it and sold it to buy my 95Z.

The 95 was the first car I did any real serious work on, and kept it until it rusted out from under me 6 years later. That brings me to the current Beretta that I completely overhauled. Now I have what I consider to be the perfect summer DD. Not super fast, but lots of fun and great mileage.

It starred for ,e when I realized my 67 c10 was too much of a project for me to handle. When driving my mother around a 91 3.1 for sale in someones yard caug,ht my eye. Test drove it and liked how the car had torque, something my mothers 98 Taurus didn't have at all. The guy wanted $1200, and after inspecting the rocker panels and finding them rusted through, I offered the guy $600, which he didn't like too much since he knew jack piss about cars ( he told me it was a 4 cylinder). I still wanted a Beretta but I wasn't going to over pay for one. I joined bstuff and a member was selling his 93 auto 3.1 in my home town. My father and I went and took a look at it. The drivers side window track was screwed up, the rust had eaten up the firewall and rockers. What it did have was a decent set of gtz seats and it ran strong even though it had 273k on the clock. Payed $175 for it and still have the car, albeit its a shell now waiting to be revived.

I bought my car from a neighbor because I had always wanted a second car to tinker on. When I bought it I knew nothing about cars. Hell I couldn't have even pointed out an oil pan drain plug. No, really. I bought it and then my friend got me into Autocross and junkyarding. I quickly built up a knowledge of Berettas and their parts and intricacies. Now, the car is my baby and I will continue to pump money into her until she just can;t take it. Then, I will buy another one.

I got this car for $1050. I think it is now a $20,000+ dollar car...

I was about to reply this, but then I realized that soon I can post about 10 years of Beretta ownership, so let's wait that ;)
