You're going to pay $30-$40 for a new regulator or $50-$60 for a whole reman alternator. Alternators have other parts that wear out/go bad besides just the regulator. So save yourself the time and hassle and replace the entire unit.

My car was missing the alternator when I bought it. So I ended up going to the salvage yard and finding one on a car that looked recently replaced. I had it tested, paid $15 and went home happy! :D I spent a few minutes cleaning it up with the wire wheel and repainting the center/fan/pulley black before bolting it on because I'm anal like that! lol 16,000+ miles later and my $15 Alt is still working great! ;)

Nice clean engine bay!

Yea im replacing the alternator...just got started...man its hot here in Texas. It felt good to drive it with a fully charged batt. I was worried I wasnt gonna make it...the batt gauge was reading low.

Anyone have a link to a post that talked about fixing the waterleaks. Someone posted it was the firewall itself where iys welded to the car. Not just the wiper area near the windshield. I know on the homepage there is help but someone posted the actual fix

Better off just replacing the whole thing. That way you are sure to eliminate the issue. The components are not just plug and remove, I believe some of its soldered together possibly, though I could be wrong. I have never taken one of these models apart.
