Was considering using one out of a camaro, but after seeing how weak these cars really are up front, I will be making my own from scratch to get some strength back

Wow, come a long ways since I was here last. Looking great, too. Should post some pics of the chopped up firewall. Hope you don't have too much trouble getting the car solid enough. After seeing how far you've come, it's hard not to run out to the garage and start chopping at the Z. The conversion has always been on my mind, but what you are doing is inspirational.

There's a reason nobody did this before. I'm getting boned. Tunnel is cut, trans fits.

Problem lies there's no room on th firewall for brakes steering etc. plus the motor sits far forward even with the bell housing totally In the interior of the car so a front steering rack probably still won't work. Even if so, the subframe is in the way.

Loosing motivation fast, but I will get it done

I forget who it was, but have you ever seen the attempted RWD Beretta conversion with the entire corvette floor structure and drivetrain? It was never finished, but I think he did get up to having the body on top of the vette lowers. Don't remember why he quit, but I know there were issues.

Since you mention there is a lot of firewall space issues, it's too bad you didn't use this setup...

Ok, probably a little more expensive, but looks like it could save some problems. That, or the entire tunnel would have to be mad larger. Although that would allow for strengthening of the body by making a tube frame structure around the new tunnel. I don't know, guess it's not really worth talkin about that much, since you're already where you are and this way is so expensive. Although, the C5 drivetrain is the way I'd really like to go if I ever do. I'd only use the rolling gear, not the entire lower section like the person previously.

Never saw the corvette swap. Nice.

My biggest issues are steering and firewall space. I will focus on that this week
