[quote="whiteretta"]Back to the grind! This year has been a fun year with the car. Upgraded my instrument cluster to a chrome and red Speedhut setup and a black and red HVAC setup. Also installed? Flush mount radio kit! Thanks to Mr. Weinstock I also got a new hood for the instrument cluster. Mine only had to screw holes left, they all broke over time...

Where did you get the custom gauge face kit?

Probably Speedhut back when they actually made gauge faces for our cars... No dice on that now. You'd have to contact them about making a custom one and hope they don't want to charge you out the ass for it.

This is about the only option out there now...

Yep, a few months afterwards they discontinued them. I believe Shawn's old Z was the last car to have a set made, mine quite possibly being the last one before his.

Must be new since prior to them doing just "gauges" they did ELGlow panels... Unless of course the name was bought and is now used by a completely different company and the original starter of "SpeedHut" has sold out.

So I found out one of my MSD coils was cracked, which isn't a major bother to me. I know they're over priced and don't have any added benefits over factory coils. Ordered a set of Denso's to replace the set.

A full set of Denso's was only $98 shipped, not much more than what I would have paid for Wells coils at my work. I don't believe, at least with electrical parts, you can get much higher quality than Denso.

I found out that Tyler hasn't had time to work on my car since he took the engine out, so the odds of having the car back so I can drive it this summer are slim to none. Not that I'm happy about the whole situation, but it is what it is. I know there are personal issues involved, that I'd rather not get into. If I had the space, tools and equipment, I would have been able to do the work myself, but I do not.

I will continue to update this thread as I'm able, but the updates will continue to be few and far between for while at least.

After everything that Shawn went through I don't understand why you decided to have Tyler help you with this project. Best of luck to you and I hope things start to pickup soon.

He volunteered, and he was doing much better work back when he did volunteer to do it. He started it pretty quick, and made progress real fast, then it just sort of stopped. I'm really bad at giving second chances, I'm probably way too forgiving for my own good!
