Um does this come with the modified knuckle necessary to bolt this up? I think the only mod is cutting off the ears that hold the pads but I can't remember now... I know the Baer kit had something else done.

It should just be the tabs being decapitated. Obviously the 'retta has the caliper on the rear of the disk but it should be bolt on. If I end up having to modify something, somewhere....I'll let future me worry about that one.

Ok, I thought thats what it was. Just checking because I remember the Baer kit you need to send them core knuckles to have them work on them.

PLEASE weigh the rotor though, I'm very curious to know how much it weighs vs a Camaro one.

Amatuer, what offset is your rim? My 35mm offset rims clear fine but the stock gtu rims dont come close to fitting. The only other thing you'll need is custom brake lines.

I think I'll stick with the F/N body upgrade for that kind of money! Good luck with 'em tho.

I'm running a 40mm offset 16x7. if the fitting is too tight, then i'll just run spacers. I went to the junkyard today for a cursory look at the brake lines in a beretta and cavalier and they are exactly the same from what I saw. I'm just going to buy the stainless steel flex lines that wilwood sells seperately for this specific kit. It should just bolt on no problem.

Weba, the caliper will not clear under the GTZ rim. IIRC the stock GTZ rim has a 42mm offset and my OZ Ultraleggeras are 35mm. The OZs clear by 2or 3mm so I think your looking for a max of 37mm offset to clear them.

Amatuer, please keep me posted on how the line work for you. I wasn't sure if the cavy ends were the same as the beretta. I'm also setting this up on an 88 so I believe my line ends are different as well but I don't know for sure.

I may think of buying 2piece rotors from BAER for the Camaro if the weight is the same... Unless Willwood offers a rotor for stock brakes... The damn stock Camaro rotor is 25lbs! If I could get it down to 10.8 I'd run the 12" brakes all the time.

I do like the N-body upgrade still though since I did get a larger bearing in the knuckle.

best thing to do with lines is what I did on my car... Get the proper GM metric bubble adapters that go to -3AN for the steel line and then you can get any -3AN to whatever banjo fitting you need at any length... OR do it in pieces and get a banjo end that has a 3AN fitting on and and just get a -3AN to -3AN line. There are tons of ways to do it once you get a AN fitting on the body side of things.

Do you happen to know the weight of the N-body knuckle? I know it's much lighter than ours but I'm just curious as to how much lighter.

I didn't weigh it... Geoff might have though.

N-body - 4.1 lbs

Hubs
Stock - 5.4 lbs
N-body - 7.2 lbs

3.8lb drop using the bearing and all.

The outer CV is 5lbs but he didn't weigh the stock one, I'm sure its right around the same if only a little lighter due to the shaft being a tiny bit smaller.

So when using spacers these should fit...? I guess 16" is the smallest rim you can run with these brake setup?
